Brendan Downey is a senior associate in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group and is based out of the New York office. His practice focuses on advising private equity groups, sponsors, project proponents and other participants on a range of international and domestic joint ventures, partnerships, M&A transactions and equity and tax equity financings in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors, with a principal focus on natural gas, renewable and other alternative energy technologies.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Brendan was an associate at a major law firm in Calgary, Alberta, where he maintained an energy transactional and regulatory practice, including M&A, capital markets and joint venture advisory work in Canada, the United States, Africa, Kazakhstan, Romania, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, and, in addition, appeared before the National Energy Board and its successor, the Canada Energy Regulator, the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
