Summer Program

Summer associates experience what it’s like to be a lawyer at K&S by working on challenging matters for real clients in our culture of mentorship and development. Our summer program is coordinated by a team of lawyers in each office who work to ensure each summer associate has the right mix of substantive work, training and networking.

Summer associates participate in the K&S Summer Summit, an annual retreat that combines educational and social programming and connects summer associates across the country with our lawyers and each other.

We also offer summer associates the opportunity to visit another office to experience firsthand the benefits of the firm’s platform of talented lawyers and our collaborative cross-practice, cross-office approach to serving clients.

Additionally, summer associates receive hands-on training and are paired with advisors who provide guidance on assignments and integration into the firm. Weekly professional development opportunities include luncheon seminars, attendance at practice group meetings and off-site client visits.

Our current summer associate salary is $4,326 per week.

Campus Recruiting

In addition to a rigorous schedule of on-campus interviews and job fairs during the summer recruitment season, we accept direct applications on a rolling basis throughout the school year, in a bid to meet candidates where they are, when they are ready.

First- and second-year law students with strong achievement records are invited to apply directly here. Please attach a resume, law school transcript, cover letter, and writing sample. When completing the application, select “Summer Associate” as the Department and either “1L Summer Associate” or “2L Summer Associate” as the Position.
