Collaboration, Inclusion & Opportunity

Our firm’s collaborative, high-performance culture is enriched by the diverse talents, backgrounds, and perspectives of our lawyers. We support all of our lawyers with programs and resources that enhance inclusion and provide opportunities to connect and engage with each other, our clients, and our communities across the globe. All programs and resources are open to all lawyers without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, genetic information, age, disability, or any other status protected by applicable law.

Engaging Through Affinity Groups

Each of our 26 Affinity Groups provides a platform for lawyers to connect and engage across practices and offices. They are organized to allow members to address shared topics of interest, and currently include groups such as African American Attorneys, Armed Forces Attorney Coalition, Asian Attorneys, First Generation Professionals, Flex-Time/Part-Time Attorneys, LGBTQ+ Attorneys, Differently Abled Attorneys, and the Firmwide Women’s Alliance. Membership in each group is open to all lawyers.

Fostering Growth

In addition to our professional training and development resources, we also offer programs and resources that enable all of our lawyers access to opportunities to grow and thrive in our inclusive culture. Examples include associate retreats and academies, a mid-level associate leadership coaching program, partner leadership development programs, and firmwide seminars on topics like allyship.

Connecting to Opportunities

In addition to our unique Advance and Connect resources that support individual career development, all lawyers can receive regular communications about development opportunities inside and outside the firm.

Grant Nakayama

“Throughout my career, in the Navy, at the EPA, and in private practice, I have benefited from those above me who provided me with new challenges. I try to do the same for young associates at the firm.”
