Washington, D.C., Environmental, Health and Safety partner Bill Sauers and Northern Virginia Technology Transactions and Sourcing associate Dirk Lasater will speak at the Global Launchpad Event on May 18 in Charlottesville, Va. Rich Chylla, Executive Director of the UVA Licensing and Venture Group, and John Gaskins, CEO and Founder of Laser Thermal, will co-present. The panel will provide guidance to emerging companies regarding strategies designed to maximize intellectual property value in connection with expansion into international markets. The panel will address key strategic concerns, including how to balance the need for IP protection (and corresponding company valuation) against fiscal concerns (i.e., deploying limited resources most efficiently). The panel is part of a half-day event focused on helping emerging technology companies expand globally and will be presented alongside other panels, including one focused on export regulation (on which fellow King and Spalding attorney Alexis Early in speaking) and one focused on international data privacy concerns.
