Christopher R. Cowan is a trial lawyer in our Austin office and a member of King & Spalding’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice group. His practice focuses on defense of pharmaceutical, medical device, and other product liability claims.  Chris also has significant experience defending businesses and individuals in complex civil litigation involving claims of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, employment related discrimination and retaliation, deceptive trade practices, negligence and misappropriation of trade secrets.

Chris has served as counsel at product liability trials throughout the country, securing multiple defense verdicts, including one of CVN’s top ten jury defense verdicts of 2022. He is recognized by Super Lawyers® as a “Rising Star,” earning this distinction in both Texas and Southern California. He is admitted to practice in Texas and California, and several U.S. District Courts and Courts of Appeals.
