backAUSTIN, Dec. 7, 2023 — The Texas Lawyer has honored King & Spalding senior counsel Lee Yeakel with its Lifetime Achievement award as part of its 2023 Texas Legal Awards program. The publication cited him for playing a pivotal role in framing the evolution of law in Texas.
Yeakel has devoted his 50-year legal career to the city of Austin and has invaluable strategic insight from both sides of the aisle. He has spent 20 years on the bench as a United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas, presiding over scores of critical and unprecedented civil and criminal matters involving finance, technology, education, public health and many other sectors. He currently advises King & Spalding clients, offering a unique perspective across the arc of the dispute process.
The Professional Excellence Awards recognizes those “attorneys and judges who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in Texas -- whether in shaping the law, achieving outsized results for their clients, being an outstanding jurist or assisting those in need of legal services,” according to the publication.
