Northern Virginia Technology Transactions and Sourcing Associate Dirk Lasater spoke on a panel with Fradyn Suárez and outside presenters Seth Finck (Senior Counsel – Information Technology and Privacy at Restaurant Brands, International) and Teresa De Torres (Managing Counsel-Commercial at Millicom (Tigo) to the South Florida Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel at its dinosaur-themed 14th Annual CLE event at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The presentation was titled “Dino-Mite Deals: Practical Advice on Reviewing Commercial Contracts.” The panel focused on practical strategies for negotiating technology and commercial agreements, and the key issues to consider from both the customer and vendor perspective. The panel addresses issues related to IP ownership and license rights, risk shifting (including limitations of liability an indemnity), data protection and privacy, artificial intelligence and LLMs, and navigating in-house business/legal tensions.
