Yushan Luo focuses his practice on intellectual property litigations.  As a physicist by training, Dr. Luo has leveraged his  technical background to litigate patent cases involving computer technology, medical devices, optics, and software. He has extensive experiences in preparing and defending depositions, claim construction, establishing and defending non-infringement and invalidity contentions, as well as dispositive motions. Dr. Luo also has years of experiences in patent counseling, managing patent portfolios for clients from top-tier research universities to high-tech emerging growth companies.

Dr. Luo speaks native mandarin and has helped clients in the greater China area navigate the complex U.S. legal system.

Dr. Luo received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in 2019, where he also served as an editor for the American Criminal Law Review (ACLR).  While at law school, Dr. Luo also worked as a patent agent drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of technical areas, including semiconductor processing, material science, LIDAR, network communications, and security.

Prior to law school, Dr. Luo obtained his PhD degree in Applied Physics from Princeton University. His PhD research focused on developing soft x-ray lasers via laser-plasma interactions.
