People

Shaila Rahman Diwan is the Chair of the firm’s award-winning Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation Team.  She is a trial lawyer with a national practice, representing Fortune 100 life sciences, consumer product and technology companies in product liability and complex commercial litigation.  Shaila has handled a significant number of high-stakes trials nationwide, with a focus on notoriously difficult jurisdictions.  She is known for presenting novel, complex scientific issues and defenses to judges and juries.

Shaila has been recognized for her talent in defending clients across a wide range of industries.  She has been recognized as a Rising Star for Product Liability by Law360 and was listed as a Notable Woman in the Law by Crain's New York Business.  Shaila was also recently named a Future Star by Benchmark Litigation.  She has been recognized by Legal 500 for Product Liability Defense in both Consumer Products and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation.

Shaila is also committed to pro bono work and serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the New York City Bar's Justice Center.

Shaila also has substantial experience representing companies in high-stakes litigation arising out of complex commercial disputes.  Her recent work in this area includes representing major companies in wide variety of contractual disputes in the areas of cryptocurrency, telecommunications, real estate, banking and healthcare.

Shaila is committed to pro bono work and serves on the Board of Directors for the New York City Bar's Justice Center.
