Moritz Heidbuechel is a counsel in King & Spalding’s Frankfurt office and a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Funds practice. Moritz advises German and international clients on all stages of the real estate life cycle. He has comprehensive experience in advising on complex investment and transaction structures, including asset deals, share deals and joint ventures. Moritz also advises on real estate financings.
With more than 15 years of experience, Moritz advises German and international clients, including German investment fund management companies focused on real assets as well as international investment fund managers (AIFM), German and international asset managers, German and international institutional real estate investors as well as sovereign wealth funds in respect of domestic and cross-border acquisitions and disposals of individual real properties and property portfolios. Moritz’ experience comprises transactions involving office, commercial and residential real estate, as well hotels, logistics properties, healthcare and life sciences assets, and data centers.
Having studied and worked in China for many years, he frequently advises on real estate and corporate M&A transactions involving Asia, with a focus on the automotive, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Moritz worked as counsel in the global transactions practice group at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Munich and Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He also worked as a registered foreign lawyer for a German-headquartered law firm in Beijing, China.
Moritz is a member of the King & Spalding LGBTQ+ affinity group. He speaks German, English and Mandarin Chinese (Putonghua).
The German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche has recognized Moritz a Top Lawyer for Real Estate 2023.
