Michael Panek is an associate in the Los Angeles office of King & Spalding and a member of the firm’s Trial and Global Disputes practice group. Michael focuses his practice on representing Fortune 100 and other entities in a wide range of complex litigation including class actions, product liability, and a broad range of commercial disputes in federal and state courts.
Michael has experience in high stakes litigation including defending consumer class actions, and single plaintiff warranty actions, brought against automotive companies. He has also defended a major retailer and baby food manufacturer in false advertising and product liability actions related to alleged contaminants in baby food products. As part of his practice, Michael has drafted dispositive and discovery motions, assisted in developing e-discovery strategy, argued numerous discovery motions in California state courts, negotiated favorable settlements, and prepared various pre-trial motions and submissions in advance of trial.
Michael joined the firm following graduation from USC Gould School of Law, where he developed his writing skills and honed his attention to detail while serving as a Senior Editor for the Southern California Law Review. At King & Spalding, Michael has demonstrated a commitment to pro bono work, receiving a 2022 Pro Bono Service Award.
