People

Michael Meade is a senior associate in the Corporate, Finance and Investments Group in the Tokyo office.

Michael advises clients on international energy projects, including in the areas of liquified natural gas (LNG), petrochemicals, hydrogen, ammonia, and renewable energy. In connection with such projects, he often advises on corporate, M&A, financing, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), operational and offtake matters. In particular, he has advised extensively on the downstream, midstream and upstream sectors of the oil and gas industry and spent several years working in-house for an American upstream oil and gas company, in Houston and Kuala Lumpur. He also has considerable experience working on the development and financing of crude oil floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) units, as well as the commercialization of large offshore natural gas discoveries in Southeast Asia, including the development of associated offshore gas pipelines.

Michael was recently seconded for 18 months to a Japanese trading company in Tokyo where he focused on various cross-border hydrogen, biofuels, solar, coal and LNG projects, including in particular the drafting and negotiation of various LNG marketing agreements for the long-term supply of LNG to Japan and South Korea.
