Michael LaBattaglia is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of King & Spalding and a member of the firm’s Healthcare practice. Michael specializes in advising healthcare providers in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement litigation, regulatory compliance, and antitrust matters.
His practice focuses on counseling healthcare systems, hospitals, academic medical centers and physician groups on issues such as: Medicare reimbursement appeals before the Provider Reimbursement Review Board; Medicare claims appeals before Administrative Law Judges; Medicare and Medicaid enrollment, audit, payment, and billing compliance; and clinical integration related to antitrust matters.
Before joining King & Spalding, Michael worked for four years at a public policy research firm where he performed evaluations of Medicare claim appeals contractors on behalf of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Michael graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law where he served as an editor and author for the Maryland Law Review. Michael also holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
