Jun Bautista is counsel in King & Spalding’s Singapore office, and is a member of the International Arbitration practice group. He has represented clients across a number of industries in international arbitrations under various rules as well as ad hoc proceedings, with a particular focus on Asia. Legal directories describe Jun as "...very effective, and knows what the client wants…” and “praise his strong technical ability and commercial approach.”
Jun is admitted to practice in New York and the Philippines and is familiar with both civil and common law systems.
Prior to joining King & Spalding, Jun was based in Hong Kong for almost a decade and worked in the international arbitration groups of two major international law firms. He was also previously the founding director of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) in Singapore, an associate at a leading Philippine law firm, and a law clerk for Justice Conchita Carpio Morales of the Philippine Supreme Court.
In addition to representing clients, Jun has been teaching international arbitration in the Philippines since 2009. He is currently teaching international arbitration at the University of the Philippines College of Law LL.M. program and the Angeles University Foundation School of Law. He has also taught at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law.
Jun is a founding member and a former co-chair of HK45, a group for young arbitration practitioners based in Asia. He is also member of the ICC Taskforce on the New York Convention.
Jun has been listed as an “Arbitration Future Leader” by Who’s Who Legal. He has also been recognized in Chambers Global, Chambers Asia Pacific and Legal 500.

Represented the owner of a railway project in Southeast Asia in a SIAC arbitration commenced by a sub-contractor. Both the SIAC court and the tribunal decided that they had no prima facie jurisdiction over the client.
Represented a Philippine power producer in a SIAC arbitration arising out of a long-term coal supply agreement and shipping documentation. The case settled favorably.
Represented a power producer in a USD 20 million ad hoc arbitration against its insurers for losses arising from the breakdown of a power plant in the Philippines. The case settled favorably.
