People

Kanzanira Thorington is an associate in the Government Matters practice and a member of the firm’s International Trade team.  A dual-qualified lawyer in the U.S. and England, Kanzanira’s practice covers several aspects of international trade law, including trade remedies, trade policy, and sanctions.

Kanzanira has represented clients in trade remedy proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Kanzanira also advises clients on sanctions administered by the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control.  In addition, Kanzanira has experience advising clients on trade-related climate measures, such as the EU CBAM. 

Prior to joining King & Spalding, Kanzanira was an associate in an international trade group at another major law firm.  Kanzanira clerked for the Hon. Timothy M. Reif at the U.S. Court of International Trade, and previously worked as an Attorney Fellow in the Office of the General Counsel in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and interned at the Legal Affairs Division of the World Trade Organization.

In the United States, Kanzanira is currently admitted to practice only in New York.
