Jonathan is a trial and appellate litigator specializing in patent and other technology-related matters. A Ph.D. computer scientist and former judicial law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Jonathan combines appellate-level thinking, writing, and oral advocacy with a technical team's ground-level understanding of disputed computer technology. His practice focuses on helping clients craft and implement bespoke case strategies that win at trial and stand up on appeal.
Jonathan has handled patent, trade secret, and copyright cases involving many areas of computer technology, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, high-performance computing, operating systems, computer networking, database technology, mobile devices, among others. He has also handled litigation in many non-technical areas of the law, including constitutional law, product liability, trademark, class action, bankruptcy law, cybersecurity, and international trade.
Jonathan earned his JD cum laude from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Association. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California, San Diego, where his research focused on large-scale and distributed computing. He earned his B.A. in computer science from Colby College, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and with departmental distinction.
