Jona McCormick is Associate General Counsel of King & Spalding, and, in that role, advises the firm on employment-related matters. Prior to becoming Associate General Counsel, Jona focused her practice on employment litigation in federal and state courts, and routinely defended employers against discrimination, wrongful discharge, tort, breach of contract and other employment-related claims. Jona has successfully defended class action and multi-plaintiff employment cases throughout the United States.
Jona also counseled clients on a variety of matters, including employment and separation agreements, personnel policies and handbooks, EEO and diversity training, restrictive covenants, wage-and-hour compliance, internal investigations, reductions-in-force, and day-to-day personnel decisions.
Jona is admitted to practice in the state courts of Florida, Georgia and Oregon, as well as before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Florida and the Northern District of Georgia.

Counsel for a major specialty retail chain in a nationwide lawsuit filed by the EEOC alleging a pattern or practice of discriminating against over 50,000 Black and Hispanic applicants for employment in over 70 stores.
Counsel for a major insurance company in a nationwide class and collective action alleging discrimination on the basis of race and age in Ohio federal court. The District Court dismissed with prejudice all class and collective action allegations as well as all allegations of disparate impact by the individual plaintiff.
Counsel for electric company in action filed by 13 individual plaintiffs alleging race discrimination and harassment in South Carolina federal court. The District Court granted summary judgment in the lead case, and the other cases were resolved favorably.
