People

Charles Cain is an associate in the Special Matters & Government Investigations group. His practice focuses primarily on corporate internal investigations, defense of corporations and individuals in government investigations, advising state agencies on anti-fraud efforts, white-collar criminal defense, and related civil litigation. He also has experience representing international manufacturers in complex federal and state environmental investigations and enforcement actions.

Charles graduated from University of Virginia School of Law, where he was recognized with a Bracewell LLP Appellate Advocacy Award. He was also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Law and Politics. He earned a B.A. in International Affairs at the George Washington University, which he attended on an NROTC scholarship. 

Charles has served for over a decade in the United States Marine Corps on active duty and in the reserves. He is a veteran of Operation: Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. In his current Reserve assignment, he is a representative of the Marine For Life Network, which provides career advice and resources for active duty servicemembers and veterans. He also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on immigration justice for Afghan asylum seekers and refugees.
