For clients who find themselves the victim of a data breach, Kent’s practice includes all aspects of incident response, from helping facilitate digital forensic investigations related to root cause, containment, and remediation to advising on data breach notifications and interfacing with law enforcement. In addition to his data privacy and security practice, Kent also represents clients involved in intellectual property disputes, including claims of patent infringement and false advertising.
Prior to attending law school, Kent earned his Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering from Mississippi State University and spent 20 years in the telecommunications industry as a computer and network engineer for Nortel Networks and Ericsson, where his work focused primarily on wireless technologies and network protocols. Kent's background gives him a unique understanding of the technological and legal issues clients face when dealing with a cybersecurity or data breach incident.
