Associate
Ashleigh Nwanguma is an associate in the Houston office of King & Spalding and is a member of the firm’s Trial and Global Disputes group. Her practice focuses on the representation of corporations in complex civil litigation, including toxic and environmental torts, personal injury, and contract disputes in state and federal courts. Ashleigh also represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in product liability litigation.
She has experience in the defense and management of complex lawsuits in multi-district litigation and mass torts, as well as individual cases pending in state and federal courts across the country. Her work involves many facets of litigation, including: initial case assessment, removal of state court actions and defending remand of the same, discovery management, conducting legal research, and drafting responsive pleadings and dispositive motions.
She also counsels product manufacturers on internal and government investigations, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) investigations and corporate compliance.
Ashleigh honed her research and writing skills as a judicial intern to the Honorable Alfred H. Bennett of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Ashleigh graduated magna cum laude from South Texas College of Law, where she served as the Executive Editor of the South Texas Law Review and served as a research assistant to Dean Vanessa Brown-Barbour. She also earned the CALI Award for Excellence (awarded for highest grade) in Legal Research & Writing I, Civil Procedure, Torts I, Family Law, and Consumer Transactions. Prior to attending law school, Ashleigh obtained a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Houston Baptist University and served as captain of the HBU Women’s Basketball Team.
