Egishe Dzhazoyan is a partner in King & Spalding’s London office and specializes in international arbitration and litigation. As a dual qualified (England & Wales and Russia) lawyer with both civil and common law background, Egishe is uniquely placed to provide strategic legal advice concerning large and complex disputes, often involving a cross-border element and enforcement issues. During 23 years of practice, Egishe has advised and represented clients in more than 200 arbitration and litigation proceedings across a host of various jurisdictions and in a broad range of industries.

An accomplished advocate, Egishe has represented clients in arbitrations under the rules of most of the leading international arbitration institutions including the ICC, LCIA, ICSID, VIAC, SCC, the Zurich Chamber of Commerce and the International Commercial Arbitration Court of Russia.

Egishe also serves as an arbitrator and is accredited as such by Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, Dubai International Arbitration Centre, Vienna International Arbitration Centre, Cyprus Arbitration and Mediation Centre and the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia. As an arbitrator, he has particular experience with disputes involving sanctions issues.

Egishe also frequently advises clients in court proceedings and has particular experience in matters involving enforcement of arbitral awards against sovereign states, as well as complex offshore commercial fraud and asset recovery disputes. An example of this type of work was his role as lead global litigation counsel in helping to secure what is believed to be the largest ever court mandated asset attachment in legal history (US$22.6 billion) involving a freeze of the Republic of Kazakhstan’s National Fund assets in Belgium and the Netherlands in October 2017.
