On March 27, 2024, EU Directive 2024/825 Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition (also known as EmCo Directive) came into force. The EU law-making bodies are working on the additional “Green Claims” Directive which has been drafted by the Commission.
Both directives are part of an EU initiative to create a greener and more sustainable economy. Companies will be required to substantiate advertising claims and common criteria to evaluate those claims are to be established. This is meant to level the playing field when it comes to the environmental performance of products and give consumers the tools to make informed choices, protecting them from greenwashing.
In this virtual event, we will discuss how manufacturers can proactively position themselves to ensure compliance when using “Green Claims”.
