Trial Partner Veronica Moyé Joins King & Spalding as Firm Opens New Office in Dallas

Firm’s Dallas office – its third office in Texas – will focus on corporate, finance and restructuring, business litigation, government investigations, real estate and funds, and product liability and mass torts

Dallas, February 26, 2024 – King & Spalding announced today that nationally renowned trial lawyer Veronica Moyé has joined the firm as a partner in its Business Litigation practice group. Moyé joins the firm in Dallas, where it is opening its 24th office globally and 11th in the U.S. The new office in Dallas expands the firm’s international platform deeper into Texas, where the firm has a Houston office opened in 1995 and an Austin office opened in 2008. The Dallas office will focus on corporate, finance and restructuring, business litigation, government investigations, real estate and investment funds, and product liability and mass tort work for a broad spectrum of clients across the energy, financial services, transportation, healthcare, life sciences and technology sectors.

Moyé’s trial practice spans a range of disciplines, including antitrust, intellectual property, class action and commercial disputes. She joins King & Spalding from Gibson Dunn, where she was co-chair of the firm’s Global Litigation Practice Group and served on its Executive Committee.

“Veronica is a star first-chair trial lawyer with valuable in-house experience and a passion for mentoring and developing the next generation that aligns with our commitment to clients and associates,” said Robert D. Hays, Jr., chairman of King & Spalding. “While our firm has long-term relationships with a number of key clients in Dallas, the critical mass of talent we now have there internally solidified our decision to commit on-the-ground resources in this important market, which is home to many of the country’s top corporations. Veronica is a terrific anchor hire for the office, and we are confident it will expand quickly with additional talent.”

Moyé is widely recognized for her work with numerous accolades, including being named a National Law Journal “General Litigation Trailblazer” (2023) and Dallas Bar Association’s “Trial Lawyer of the Year” (2022). She is ranked in Band 1 of Chambers USA for Texas Antitrust (ranked since 2009) and in Band 3 of Texas General Commercial Litigation (ranked since 2019) and has been named to Benchmark Litigation’s “Top 10 Women in Litigation” (2022) and “Top 100 Trial Lawyers in America” (2022, 2023) lists. A Dallas native, she is regularly asked to appear in Texas state and federal cases given her stature before the judiciary. She recently served on the faculty for the 2023 ABA Antitrust Law Section Antitrust Law & Economics institute, a program where practitioners and academics teach antitrust law principles to federal judges. Moyé maintains active bar memberships in Texas, New York and New Jersey. She earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

“King & Spalding has a collaborative, team-oriented approach to client and practice development that has clearly paid dividends in terms of growth without sacrificing a strong sense of esprit de corps and a one-firm culture,” said Moyé. “I am excited to work with my new partners and former colleagues who are at K&S now to help build a strong Dallas office and grow the firm’s Business Litigation practice.”

Moyé is joined by other high-profile King & Spalding partners in the new Dallas office, including Sean Royall, global practice head of the firm’s Antitrust and Consumer Protection practice, and prominent IP lawyer Alfonso Chan, who both joined the firm in the past six months. In addition to Royall, Chan and Moyé, the firm employs roughly a dozen associates in the Dallas area, and additional associates have committed to joining the firm in the fall. The firm expects to add additional Dallas-based lawyers and to announce the location of its Dallas office soon.

For almost 30 years, King & Spalding has maintained a thriving practice in Texas focused on energy and healthcare companies in complex litigation, appeals and transactions. Lawyers in the firm’s Texas offices also advise public and private companies on construction disputes, complex business litigation, pharmaceutical mass tort defense, securities litigation, international arbitration and intellectual property protection. Other partners who have joined the firm in Texas recently include Michael Fishel (financial restructuring), Mary-Olga “Mo” Lovett (trial), Mitch Tiras (corporate), and Terra Cothran (energy construction).
