Sophia Sepulveda Harms will be a featured speaker on a two-part panel discussion entitled ICC YAAF: Energy Disputes & Award Enforcement: Spotlight on Latin America. The program will take place in New Orleans, LA, on November 13, 2024. The panel will discuss the recently accelerated trend in Latin America to develop renewable and clean energy sources, and the legal implications for U.S. businesses as laws and policies adapt to reflect the global movement away from traditional energy sources toward renewables and clean energy sources. The panel will reflect on the disputes arising out of the energy transition in Europe, and how the results of these arbitrations may set an example for Latin America’s transition to solar, wind, hydropower, and lithium and copper production.
