Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte Appointed as Non-Governmental Advisor (NGA) to the European Commission at the International Competition Network (ICN)

King & Spalding Antitrust Partner Dr. Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte has been appointed by the European Commission to serve as Non-Governmental Advisor (NGA) to the EU’s antitrust enforcer, the Directorate General for Competition (DG COMP), at the International Competition Network (ICN).

Salomé forms part of a group of 15 EU competition law experts consisting of lawyers and economists in private practice, academia, business, and consumer NGO’s, who have been selected as NGAs to assist the European Commission in its work on the Merger Working Group at the ICN.

The International Competition Network (ICN) is the only global body devoted exclusively to competition law enforcement and its members represent national and multinational competition agencies. Established in 2001, the ICN aims to promote the adoption of superior standards and procedures in competition policy around the world, formulate proposals for procedural and substantive convergence, and seek to facilitate effective international cooperation. The ICN is exclusively concerned with competition law – “It is all competition, all the time.”
