backPARIS, April 4, 2022 – Global Arbitration Review has once again selected King & Spalding as the number one international arbitration practice worldwide in its “GAR 30” guide to the world’s leading international arbitration practices.
The ranking was unveiled at the 12th GAR Awards ceremony in Paris. The GAR 30 ranks firms primarily on the number and value of arbitral hearings conducted over a two-year period, as well as activities that reflect a strong reputation, such as arbitrator appointments and the number of lawyers individually recognized as leading arbitration practitioners.
“Of all the criteria, bet-the-company and large hearings have the greatest effect on the final ranking,” noted Global Arbitration Review. “Under the GAR 30 methodology this year, King & Spalding is our winner.”
Global Arbitration Review highlighted the firm’s work in high-value investor-state, oil and gas, energy, renewables, construction and mining disputes, including seven “bet-the-company” mining cases (those valued over $1 billion).
