Edward Kehoe specializes in business arbitration and litigation. He is co-head of our International Arbitration practice and a member of the firm’s ten-person management committee.
In 2023, King & Spalding’s International Arbitration group was named the leading international arbitration practice in the world for the third time by Global Arbitration Review (which noted that “King & Spalding built its name on results”), and “International Arbitration Practice Group of the Year” by Law360 for the fifth time. The team has been widely lauded as a leading practice in the industry by Chambers, AmLaw and Legal 500, which recently emphasized the team’s “consistently excellent work.”
With more than 25 years of experience in business arbitration and litigation, Edward represents clients in the energy, mining, construction, professional services, finance and banking, pharmaceutical, and insurance sectors. He has been lead counsel in many international arbitration and trials (both jury and bench), with successful outcomes for his clients.
Edward is currently ranked in Band 1 in Chambers USA and in the “Hall of Fame” category in Legal 500 United States. He has been ranked in Chambers USA since 2007, which describes him as “a phenomenal practitioner” who has “notable expertise in high-value commercial and investment treaty arbitrations concerning the energy sector, acting for an impressively high-profile client base.” Chambers USA has reported that “Edward is praised by interviewees as an outstanding advocate, with sources citing his ability to navigate through complicated issues as a key strength,” and “he receives accolades from clients who appreciate his strategic approach and ability to take into consideration business interests.”
Chambers Global describes Edward as “first-class advocate” who is “approachable and intelligent. Despite the fact that he is one of the top people in the field, he is very down-to-earth.” It has quoted sources who say that he is “an extraordinary and zealous advocate for his clients.” “He's smart, experienced and really easy to work with."
Global Arbitration Review reports “Edward Kehoe is ‘an effective cross examiner’, laud sources who commend his ‘strong expertise in energy and mining matters’ as well as his ‘smooth and persuasive advocacy style.’”
