Description
Once thought of as solely an IT problem, cybersecurity is now a core c-suite and boardroom concern. The growth of digital assets and connected systems, combined with the fact that everything connected to the Internet can be hacked, means that all companies will experience data breaches.
All companies must prepare for what has to be done after a data breach occurs. In the aftermath of a data breach, companies must respond to a complicated crisis that requires management of multiple workflows in a highly compressed time period. These workflows can include digital forensic preservation and investigation, notification of a broad range of third parties and other constituencies (including customers, partners, employees, affiliates, insurance carriers, and a range of additional interested parties), fulfillment of state and federal compliance obligations, possible litigation, working with law-enforcement and public-relations personnel, and the list goes on. Even aside from these workflows, a company may well be exposed to other, longer-term intangible costs, including reputational damage, loss of productivity, management drag, and problems with employee morale and lags in overall business performance.
This e-Learn is for managers and attorneys at all levels of cyber literacy, from the beginner who is just starting to appreciate the complex nature of cyber vulnerabilities to the expert who has addressed them for years. The e-Learn will examine and analyze the workflows that are typical after a data breach, zeroing in on them from the perspective of former computer crime prosecutors who manage incident responses for public and private corporations. Learn first-hand from data-breach experts not only how to handle the inevitable data breach, but what preemptive steps to take now to insure adequate preparation.
