Benchmark Litigation Names Five King & Spalding Partners to its List of Top 250 Women in Litigation


Benchmark Litigation has named King & Spalding partners Dixie Johnson, Carmen Lawrence, Veronica Moyé, Jennifer Recine and Tracie Renfroe to its 2024 list of the Top 250 Women in Litigation. The list honors women lawyers who “have earned their place by participating in some of the most impactful litigation matters in recent history as well as by earning the hard-won respect of their peers and clients,” according to the organization.

Johnson represents businesses and individuals in securities enforcement investigations and conducts internal investigations for corporate board committees and companies. She appears regularly before the SEC, DOJ, FINRA, PCAOB and other federal and state authorities. Johnson also serves as deputy practice group leader for the firm’s Government Matters practices.

Lawrence focuses on securities-related government investigations and litigation, representing public and private companies in a range of securities-related regulatory and business matters. Lawrence is co-lead of the firm’s Securities Enforcement and Regulation practice.

Moyé acts as lead counsel on highly complex matters in a wide variety of disciplines, including antitrust, intellectual property, class actions, and commercial and business disputes. She is nationally recognized for her abilities and accomplishments as a trial lawyer.

Recine is a first-chair trial lawyer with extensive experience handling complex real estate disputes; disputes concerning distressed assets, structured products and CMBS; civil RICO;  securities actions; regulatory disputes, professional malpractice; tax; and other high-stakes matters.

Renfroe has a national trial practice focusing on toxic tort, environmental, product liability and commercial disputes. She represents clients in the energy and manufacturing sectors around the country. She is also managing partner of the firm’s Houston office.

The lawyers were chosen through several phases of research, including individual litigators’ professional activities, client feedback surveys and one-on-one interviews.
