Samaa Haridi and Agnès Bizard Appointed to the ICC International Court of Arbitration


New York International Disputes partner Samaa Haridi has been reappointed as a Vice-President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and Paris International Disputes counsel Agnès Bizard has been appointed as a Member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, representing France.  Both appointments commence on July 1, 2024 for a three-year term and were made by the ICC’s supreme governing body, the World Council. 

Samaa Haridi is a civil and common law-trained, trilingual lawyer with over 20 years of experience representing clients from all over the world in international commercial and investment arbitration, under the rules of all major arbitral institutions. In addition to her work as counsel, Samaa frequently serves as an arbitrator in international commercial and investment disputes. She is currently serving as an officer in a number of other arbitral organizations, including as a member of ICCA’s Governing Board and as past Senior Co-Chair of the Arbitration Committee of the International Bar Association. Samaa is a member of the New York, California, and England & Wales bars. She is fluent in French and Arabic, and conversant in Spanish.

Agnès Bizard’s practice covers investment, commercial and construction arbitration, with a particular focus on the mining, infrastructure, energy and manufacturing sectors. She has handled numerous arbitral proceedings conducted under the ICSID, ICC, AFA and CCJA arbitration rules, and she frequently appears before French courts in set aside proceedings. Agnès also serves as arbitrator. She is Co-Chair of the IBA Subcommittee on Recognition and Enforcement of Arbitral Awards and Co-Chair of the Under 40 French Arbitration Committee (CFA40).
