Representing Coca-Cola in asbestos insurance coverage dispute

King & Spalding represented Coca-Cola in connection with disputes over insurance coverage for asbestos lawsuits filed against its former subsidiary Cleaver-Brooks LLC.  The representation has included two lawsuits in Milwaukee County Circuit Court and ongoing mediation and informal negotiations with high-layer excess insurers. The two lawsuits have generated rulings that set favorable precedent for policyholders nationwide, including a very favorable decision by the Wisconsin Court of Appeals on a matter of first impression concerning the scope of the insurer’s joint and several liability in shared-limits policy layers.
