MIAMI, September 9, 2024 - King & Spalding announced today that trial lawyer Will Stute has joined the firm as a partner in its Product Liability and Mass Torts practice group. Stute is based in the firm’s Miami office.
Stute is a first-chair trial lawyer and business advisor who has represented clients across the sports, technology, consumer products, financial services and life sciences sectors on matters ranging from mass tort, personal injury and False Claims Act cases to antitrust, securities fraud and residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) litigation.
“Will is a dynamic presence in the courtroom who is renowned for his zealous advocacy for his clients and high-profile wins across the country,” said Andy Bayman, co-leader of the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice. “He is the consummate team player and will fit into the King & Spalding culture seamlessly while contributing to the continuing growth of our Miami office and our trial capabilities firm wide.”
Stute joins King & Spalding from Orrick, where he established himself as a premier trial partner. National Law Journal named him a 2023 Winning Litigator of the Year, and he was a 2023 finalist for The American Lawyer’s Litigator of the Year. He received his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law, cum laude, and his B.A. from Augsburg College. He is a member of the teaching faculty at Harvard Law School’s Trial Advocacy Workshop.
“King & Spalding has a tremendous trial platform as well as top-tier regulatory, investigative and transactional capabilities across all of the industries I serve, which I firmly believe will be transformative in how I serve my clients,” said Stute. “I am impressed by the firm’s emphasis on openness and collaboration and am excited to team up with my K&S colleagues – including many I have known for years – to add to the firm’s momentum in Miami and its trial practice overall.”
Since opening in 2022, King & Spalding’s Miami office has been a critical hub for serving the firm’s clients with business and legal interests in Florida, across the U.S. and Latin America, and around the globe. The firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts practice group has represented clients in hundreds of cases in Florida over the past 20 years, including more than 100 jury trials in the past decade alone.
