backLOS ANGELES, Oct. 25, 2016 — King & Spalding litigator Alexander Calfo was named a finalist for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2016 Lawyer of the Year award.
The awards recognize “exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large,” according to the publication. The Business Journal announced the award winners at a reception on Oct. 18, and finalists and awardees were profiled in the publication on Oct. 24.
Calfo joined King & Spalding in August 2015 and is based in Los Angeles. He serves as lead trial lawyer, both as regional and national counsel, for several Fortune 100 companies in multi-district litigation and state-wide coordinated proceedings. In recent years, he served as lead trial counsel for clients who were awarded four of the top 10 winning verdicts for the entire State of California. His national practice is devoted to trying high-profile product liability matters in the pharmaceutical and medical device, automotive, heavy machinery and chemical industries.
