PARIS, September 2, 2022 — King & Spalding has recruited Fernand Arsanios, a banking and finance lawyer, as a partner in its Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) Practice Group in Paris.
Arsanios has extensive finance expertise stretching over 20 years. He advises on domestic and international acquisition and project financing transactions. His clients include private debt funds, private equity funds and financial institutions. He also represents international corporations with footprints in Europe and the MENA region. In addition to his in-depth knowledge of unitranche, PIK, mezzanine, second-lien, senior and other leveraged debt structures, he regularly advises some of the world’s premier development banks on energy and infrastructure financings.
“Fernand enjoys a strong reputation in the French legal market, with experience in leading domestic and international firms, and combines top-notch leveraged finance know-how with a genuinely entrepreneurial spirit,” said Todd Holleman, head of the firm’s CFI practice. “We are investing heavily in our transactional practices across Europe in high-value areas, particularly focusing on corporate and private equity M&A and leveraged finance. Fernand is an important part of that expansion.”
Arsanios was most recently a partner at Reed Smith and previously at Gide Loyrette Nouel. He is ranked in Legal 500 EMEA 2022 and recognized as a Best Lawyer in France. He received his undergraduate degree in Law from Université Saint-Joseph, his Master of Laws at Paris X Nanterre, and his L.L.M. in Banking and Financial Law at Boston University.
“Fernand is a welcomed new member to our CFI team in Paris, with his banking and financing practice complementing our existing M&A and private equity capabilities,” added Vanessa Benichou, Office Managing Partner in Paris. “We are committed to building out our transactional practice further, and Fernand is indicative of the type of high-quality lawyers we are looking for.”
“King & Spalding has an outstanding private credit practice and an impressive portfolio of clients, which are becoming ever more international in scope,” Arsanios added. “The firm and I share many common clients, both commercial and multilateral financial institutions, which presents a great selection of exciting opportunities for collaboration. The decision to join the firm to expand its French and international transactional offerings was an obvious one.”
