LONDON, July 30, 2014 — King & Spalding has earned a spot on the shortlist for Petroleum Economist’s “Energy Advisory Firm of the Year” award as part of the publication’s re-launched annual awards program. The awards will be announced at a ceremony in London on September 10.
King & Spalding was selected for the shortlist based on its demonstration of work from the previous year that helped energy clients advance a range of successful projects and provided innovative approaches to attacking their business challenges. The firm’s award entry focused on its leadership in LNG project development in Africa, its work helping clients advance projects despite challenging financial environments, its pioneering work in structuring LNG tolling agreements, and its active role in the evolving North American LNG liquefaction market.
According to Petroleum Economist, its awards aim to “celebrate the people, companies and projects which showcase the best of the industry.” An independent panel of industry experts will judge the awards, including:
- Abdalla El-Badri, Secretary General, OPEC
- Lord Cullen of Whitekirk, KT
- Torstein Indrebø, Secretary General, International Gas Union
- Lord John Browne, Baron Brown of Madingley, former Chief Executive, BP
