Singapore Trial and Global Disputes associate, Hanna Azkiya, will speak at a Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (“VYAP”) Collaboration Event during the Singapore Convention Week on 29 August 2024, beginning with a screening of the 28-minutes documentary “The Tribunal”, followed by a panel discussion on Investor-State Dispute Settlement (“ISDS”). The panel discussion will feature stellar in-person panellists, Mr Luke Sobota (Founding Partner, Three Crowns, Washington D.C.), Ms Sarah Grimmer (Arbitrator, Twenty Essex, Singapore) and Ms Hanna Azkiya (Associate, King & Spalding LLP, Singapore), and will be moderated by Ms Sunita P. Advani (Arbitral Assistant to Mr Michael Lee of Twenty Essex; Founder and Chair of SG VYAP).
The documentary “The Tribunal”, directed by Dr Malcolm Rogge and produced in partnership with the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment, illustrates the human impact on community members in the Intag Valley, Ecuador of an investor-state dispute between a Canadian mining company and Ecuador.
