backAbu Dhabi Corporate partner and Head of Energy Dan Feldman will speak at the 2024 Japan Energy Summit & Exhibition on June 3 in Tokyo. Dan will speak on "Unlocking Hydrogen's Potential" where the panel discussion will focus on the a variety of questions and challenges that must be addressed to advance decarbonization goals, to play a key role in the emerging new low-carbon hydrogen economy, and to understand the role collaboration and strategic partnerships will play in developing and scaling new technologies.
His panel will be alongside Honorable Brian Jean, Minister of Energy and Minerals of the Government of Alberta; Juancho Eekhout, VP Business Development LNG and Net Zero Solutions at Sempra Infrastructure; Keiichiro Segawa, Chief Executive Staff Officer, Hydrogen Strategy Division at Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.; Hayley Pham, VP Business Development, Asia Pacific, Low Carbon Solutions at ExxonMobil; Eji Ohira, Director Fuel Cell and Hydrogen at New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO).
The panelists will discuss (i) how Japan's new Hydrogen Basic Strategy incentivizes investment in hydrogen, ammonia, and e-methane, while minimizing risks associated with a new market; (ii) how can Japan better collaborate with regional and global partners to develop new technologies; (iii) how Japan should leverage its technical and financial strengths to secure leadership in hydrogen; how successful has the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act been and what lessons can be learn from it; (iv) how the Supply Chain Subsidy and Clusters Support initiatives strengthen Japan’s market position.
