The Discovery Practice served as e-discovery counsel to a large international manufacturing company in connection with multiple U.S. state, federal, and Canadian governmental investigations and multidistrict litigation proceedings. Our attorneys advised the client on the full spectrum of e-discovery issues, including providing guidance on collection and preservation issues; participating in meet and confers; implementing data transfer agreements; drafting and negotiating ESI protocols; preparing protocols to address foreign data privacy law requirements; and, establishing satellite document collection utilizing state of the art technology working with Firm and client IT to establish a highly secure on premise satellite document collection, review and production centers at the client’s European headquarters and supplemental review centers in the firm’s London and Frankfurt offices. These satellite operations included overseeing the installation of data processing and hosting capabilities, procuring computer technology and equipment for 75 review stations, and retaining foreign language fluent attorneys for the review. As a result of these efforts, we supervised and managed the review of approximately 2 million documents and more than 100 separate productions in numerous different cases.
