King & Spalding will host a roundtable webinar to discuss the latest developments surrounding the information blocking section of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Cures Act Final Rule. Healthcare providers are one of three actors regulated by ONC’s rule on information blocking, which occurs when an actor improperly interferes with the access, exchange, or use of electronic health information.
Topics for discussion during the roundtable webinar include:
- Review of provider obligations and potential sanctions, known as “disincentives”;
- Typical data sharing scenarios likely to put the information blocking rule into play;
- The Public Health Interoperability Proposed Rule published on August 5, 2024, which proposes to codify certain types of “interferences” and to amend and supplement existing information blocking exceptions; and
- Forecasting enforcement trends and priorities.
